Amazing day for the end of February. The temps topped out at about 71 degrees today. Can’t beat that! Days like today make it so hard to stay inside, it was a great day for our Urban Sketchers group to get together. What could be better than a beautiful sunny day and little bit of art to feed the soul.
We all met at the Natural History Museum for this outing. This is such a great group. All are welcome, all you have to have is an interest in sketching. This group is all about meeting from life. I had never heard about Urban Sketchers before I met this group. There are like minded people across the globe that do similar outings.
It is always fascinating to see what everyone chooses to sketch at our outings. We all see the world just a little different. Art is a way to to let the world know how we see things. Today we had some architecture, animals, dinosaurs, bones, and different exhibits in the museum. It was such a beautiful day that I couldn’t bring myself to go indoors. I found a sunny little bench and did a little watercolor.
This was the maiden voyage for my new travel set of watercolors and water pen. This was my first time using a water pen. I think overall I liked it. It is going to take a little practice to be able to control the flow of water.
All in all it was a great outing!
